After a long and fruitful life, our Dear friend, June "Sara" Romer has made her way to meet our Heavenly Father.  Sadly, she left us on August 9, 2026.

She was born to Alfred Paul Romer and Juanita Romer in New York, who predeceased her along with a sister, Star Jones and her husband, Ed Jones, who lived in Santa Fe, NM

Sara earned two Master's Degrees and served in the Appalachians, Puerto Rico and many other places.  She loved working with children.  Many towns in Northern New Mexico, including Jemez Springs, Chacon, Truchas, and Chimayo, were blessed to have her tach their children, not only in the schools but at churches for  Sunday school lessons.  She was a member of El Buen Pastor Presbyterian Chudrch in Chimayo and First Presbyterian Chuch in Santa Fe.  She lived in the orginal plaza of Chimayo, Plaza del Cerro, for may years.  She made many, many lasting friendships along the way; some that were still in touch with her.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church (208 Grant Avenue in Santa Fe, NM) at 10:30 am.
