Julian Maestas

Julian Maestas, 47, a resident of Ranchos de Taos, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 25, 2018. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Bences and Corina Maestas; uncles, Julian, Johnny and Gregorio, aunt Porfie; father in law Fred Quintana, cousins; Lucille, Jerry, Herson Jr, Greg Jr, Alex and Lil Zeke, Joey Jr and Antonette. Julian is survived by his mother Diana and step father Sammy Hammer, son Johnny Maestas (Roland), daughter Juliet Maestas (David), mother is his children Elizabeth Maestas, along with Elisa Quintana and her family, and girlfriend Mari Olivas and her family. Julian is also survived by a very large family of uncles and aunts including his aunt Cleo (Johnny) who was like a mother to him, numerous cousins (145 of them). Ben Montoya (Mary), Peggy and Gabriela who were like a brother and sisters to him. Public visitation will begin on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 9:30 am at the San Francisco de Assisi Catholic Church in Ranchos de Taos with a rosary to be recited at 10:00 am and Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at the Talpa Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Ben Montoya, Vincent Smith, Jeffery Valerio, Josh Gonzales, Jesse Martinez, and Antonio Lopez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ted Lopez Jr, Dominic Maestas, Joseph Quintana, Isaac Maestas, Anthony Valdez, Charlie, David, Michael, and Wilfred Gonzales.  The family of Julian Maestas has entrusted the care of their loved one to the caring staff of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477-www.devargasfuneral.com
