Juan Rivera

JUAN RIVERA, 54, a resident of La Madera, passed away of a short illness on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Juan was preceded in death by his sister, Maria del Rosario Rivera. Juan loved ranching and working on his trucks. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his children and grandson. He was an avid boxing fan. Juan is survived by his children, Arturo Rivera (Amanda), Isabel Rivera (Francisco); grandson, Angel Rivera, granddaughter, Analicia Rivera; parents, Antonio and Alicia Rivera; siblings, Jose, Victor (Carolina), Fidel, Carlos (Gracelia), Leticia, Raquel, Lupe (Armando), and Berta (Carlos) Rivera, and several nieces, nephews friends and family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Griego family who took such good care of him and were like family to him. Public visitation will begin on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente. Burial to follow at the La Madera Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Angel and Arturo Rivera, Ariel Paez, Francisco Trujillo, Jaime Terrazas, Tito Terrazas, and David and Tomas Griego. The family of Juan Rivera has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
