Juan Montoya

JUAN RAMON MONTOYA , 54, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 due to a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family. Juan was born on October 12, 1963 in Española to Juan and Donilia Montoya and was the only son of 4 children. Juan was a very loving and giving man who would do anything for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Juan R. Montoya, Sr.; eldest sister, Marilyn D. Montoya; paternal grandparents, Nieves and Agapita Montoya; maternal grandparents, Euraquio and Carmen Romero; paternal uncles, George and Willie Montoya; paternal aunts, Josie Vigil and Viola Freedman and cousin, Dean Miera. Mr. Montoya is survived by his mother, Donilia Montoya of Santa Fe; sisters, Wilma Montoya of Santa Fe, MaryJane Montoya and companion Alfredo Apodaca of Albuquerque; 6 nieces and nephews; 18 great-nieces and nephews and numerous other family members and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial to follow at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Velarde. A meal will follow the burial at the community hall next to the church. The family of Juan Ramon Montoya has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
