Juan Marcos Lopez

Juan Marcos Lopez, 34, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, surrounded by his family. Juan was born on February 14, 1991, in Espanola to Robert Lopez and Cynthia Peggy Maestas. He was raised in Hernandez and resided in Cuartelez.

Juan loved riding his motorcycle and playing his guitar. He had the gift to pick up things very quickly like snowboarding, skateboarding and he had an ear for music. He could hear a song and quickly learn to play it on the guitar and other instruments. He was a hard worker in all that he did. He loved Rose and his family wholeheartedly including his dog, Trixy. His infectious smile and presence will be truly missed.

Juan was preceded in death by his father Robert Lopez; grandmothers, Lourdes Maestas and Lupita Martinez; grandfather, Abedon Lopez, Jr.; uncle, Ralph Lopez and aunt, Debbie Lopez.

He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Peggy Maestas; girlfriend, Rosita Sanchez; brother, Brandon Maestas (Mattie); nephew, Deklin Maestas; grandfather, Isaac Maestas; nino, Matthew LeDoux; nina, Eva DeAguero; uncles, Brian (Noelle) Maestas and Donald Lopez; aunt, April Martinez (Jose); cousins, Britney, Lexy, Jaiden, Brianna, Katelyn, Danielle, Shannon, Francine and countless others.

A Public Viewing will be on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 5:00 pm. with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.

A Divine Mercy Chaplet will be recited on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 10:00 am, with Mass to follow at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM.

Serving as Pallbearers are Abel DeVargas, Rubel Romero, Johnny Ray Sisneros, Darren Calvert, Joe Padilla and Elias Coriz.
