Juan Antonio Maez was born on September 21, 1982, and passed away on July 23, 2026.

Juan is survived by his parents, Dolores and Emery Maez; his children, Emery Christian and Everly Marie Maez; and their mother, Crystal Hudson, with whom he maintained a close relationship as they worked together to raise their children. He is also survived by Crystal’s older children, Jade and Brendan Stoddard, whose lives Juan had been a part of since they were young children. He is further survived by his older brother and best friend, Joseph Maez; Joseph’s wife, Rosanna; their children, Timoteo and Mireya Maez; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Juan spent the first six years of his life in Cuba, New Mexico, where he attended Immaculate Conception School and helped with his family’s small business. His family later moved to Abiquiu Lake, where he continued his education at Jemez Mountain Schools. At age 13, Juan and his brother Joe started Storybook Tours, offering scenic and fishing tours on Abiquiu Lake. He also worked weekends at his family’s bed-and-breakfast in Española.

Juan graduated as valedictorian of his high school class. He later earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico’s College of Business, graduating magna cum laude.

Juan began his professional career with Intel, which took him to Arizona and Portland, Oregon. He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he helped establish a new division for Microsoft. He went on to work for Google and consult for several startup companies. In his final business venture, Juan co-founded Viewpoints AI and Accelerate Growth Solutions where he drew on his expertise in business and financial strategy to develop a patented concept that came close to market readiness.

Juan was intelligent, ambitious, outgoing, and always ready for a new challenge. He was respected by his friends and colleagues, who appreciated his company, confidence, and generosity.

Juan’s life, accomplishments, and memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him
