Juan Lorenzo Montoya

Lorenzo Montoya, age 69 a resident of Chimayo, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Lorenzo is preceded in death by his grandson Angel Luke Montoya; parents Froylano and Bersales Montoyal; in-laws Ernesto and Gabrielita Vasquez; brother Jerry; sister-in-law-Rachel; brother-in-law Simon; sister in-law Juanita and Berlinda; nieces Bersales, Maria; nephews Garald, Jason and Erinest; special great aunt Felicitas Romero and several other loved ones.

Lorenzo is survived by his wife Mary Ellen; sons Juan Lorenzo Jr. (Naomi) and Mark; his grandchildren Donald (Vergdajean), Juanito, (Jenessa), Alexia (Matthew), Ava Jo, and Jason; sis siblings. Beraldo (Terry) Leopoldo (Rose) Elefio (Seraphine) Froylano Jr. (Sylvia) Randy (Barbara) Montoya and Lucy (Horacio) Velasquez; brothers-in-law Eloy, Robert (Francella) Vasquez, Sisters Clara Vasquez, Shirley (Leroy) Lopez; Goddaughters Peggy Mares and Carolina Lopez. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lorenzo loved gardening, cooking, baking and making his famous pancakes for his grandkids. He loved helping in the community. He always looked forward on putting up farolitos with the family and neighbors during Christmas and New Years.

A Rosary will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1:00 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM, with Mass to follow at 2:00 pm.
