Joseph Michael Martinez\r\nOur beloved son, brother, uncle and friend Joseph ended his 21 year battle with cancer on August 23, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Ojo Caliente. He fought long and hard to live his life as long as possible. God lent us one of his strongest Angels to love us and teach us to live our lives to the fullest. He is at rest now in eternal peace.\r\n He was preceded in death by; his sister, Vicky Sealy; sister-in law, Kathy and niece, Victoria Martinez.\r\n Joseph was the most loving person anyone ever met. He spent his time talking to others about life and living one day at a time. He enjoyed muscle cars, wrestling, football (GO Broncos!) and cooking. He will be remembered as the most fun, loving and inspirational person to be with.\r\n Joseph is survived by his parents, Abelardo and Anita Martinez; Brothers: Steve and wife Darlene, Jimmy, Wayne; Sister, Linda Francisco and husband John; Brother–in–law, Pat Sealy; Nephews/Nieces: Jason, Juan, Jared, Joshua, Joel, Scott, Jessica, Shannon, David, Jared Jr., Alexia, Julian, Diego, Izekial, Justin and Sophie Mae; Numerous relatives, friends and his (second family) staff and volunteers at UNM Cancer Center.\r\n Public visitation will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday August 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente with burial to follow at Ojo Caliente Cemetery.
