Joseph Valdez Sr., 66, of Espanola, New Mexico passed away peacefully on October 30, 2021.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Leo Valdez and Martha Chacon; Uncles Daniel, Joe, and Lazaro Miera; Aunts Carolina Martinez, and Mary Youngblood.
He was dedicated to serving his country by enlisting in both the Army and Navy. He retired from the military in 2014 after 38 years of service. His retirement dream was to own his own working ranch. He also received his Bachelors Degree in business which he was very proud of. He also loved people and loved to take care of people.
He is survived by his partner Rose Ellen Garcia, son Joseph Valdez Jr.; sisters Barbara Lopez (Tom), Dolores Mecham (John), Ramona Lovato (Emery), Connie Selph (Mark), and Tara Chacon (Lorenzo); brothers Juan Chacon (Roxane), and Anthony Chacon. As well as many loving family members and friends.
A rosary will take place on November 5th at 10:30 am with mass to follow at 11:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz with burial to take place at a later date.
