“Gramps” Joseph E. Roybal, 61, entered into God’s Kingdom on Thursday May 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

“Gramps” was preceded in death by his loving parents; Joseph E. Roybal, Sr. and Eloisa Rendon-Roybal. Sister; Florence Herrera. Maternal grandparents; Preciliano and Domitilia Rendon. Paternal grandparents; Antonio and Rebecca Roybal. God parents; Ernest and Susie Lujan. Nephew; Chris Roybal and Great Nephew; Matthew Espinoza. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

“Gramps” was born on June 14, 1960, and a lifelong resident of El Guache, NM. He was a man of integrity; he had a lot of faith in God and attended Mass every Sunday and lived life to the fullest. All the good times we shared, the memories we made will be cherished. His pride and joy were building his low rider car and truck from the ground up, cruising the streets, and his early days of Rollin with Bajitos Unidos Car Club. He loved his Harley’s and attended local and out-of-state bike runs and enjoyed riding with his family and friends. He was a huge Sun Devil basketball fan, loved camping, helping with charity and benefit events, and was always up for an adventure. He loved his family dearly and would go above and beyond to help in many ways. He had selfless love and supported all his dear friends of many years and knew so many people. He was a proud Brother to many through the Men’s ACTS and served on team several times. We were absolutely blessed to have him stand by our side to share life and he will always hold a special place in all our hearts.

“Gramps” was survived by his daughter; Marlina Roybal-Garcia (Son-In-Law) Chris Garcia, Son; Joseph Cordova (Daughter-In-Law) Tracy Cordova. Grandsons; Paul Lucas Martinez and Jaydn Garcia. Granddaughters; Christine Garcia (Forrest), Ariah Cordova and Braelyn Cordova.  (Brother-in law) Benito Herrera.  Sisters; Porfie Duran (David), Geraldine Chacon (John), Mary Roybal, and Lourdes Roybal. Goddaughters; Jennifer Espinoza and Cherise Roybal-Jaramillo. Ex-Father/Mother-In-Law; Felipe and Flora Rivera that loved him like their own son. Ex-Wife/Mother of his daughter; Michelle Rivera-Salazar and Mother of his Son; Anna Marie Cordova, as well as, many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and many friends.

A public visitation will take place on June 15, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday June 17, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Espanola, with burial to follow at the Velarde Catholic Cemetery
