Joseph Montoya

Joe Montoya (JoeMo), 57, a resident of San Pedro passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday May 12, 2021. Joe was preceded in death by his father Joe G. Montoya and his wife Marie I. Montoya, plus many friends and relatives.

He was a retired electrician of almost 28 years for the county of Los Alamos. He loved to hunt and fish. He was also a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Joe is survived by his mother Gloria Montoya; Aunt Dorothy Garcia; Sisters: Consuelo (Sam Loftin), Joyce Markusfield; Brother Paul Montoya (Prescilla Montoya); Son: Daniel Montoya (Chey) (Chelsea); Daughter: Francisca Montoya (George); Grandkids: Georgia Vigil and Thomas Vigil plus many friends and relatives.

Pallbearers are Nathan, Ivan, Paul, George, Thomas, and Elefio.

A rosary will take place May 24, 2021 at 9:30am followed by Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo limited to 100 attendees. Burial is to follow at the Santa Cruz Cemetery. The Family of Joseph Montoya has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
