Everyone who knew Joseph knew of his love for dogs, especially Pit Bulls and Rottweilers. He was a devoted San Francisco 49ers fan and cherished the time he spent with his mother, whether they were out for a drive or enjoying a trip to the casino together. Joseph had a kind heart, a loyal spirit, and a gift for building lifelong friendships. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who have the privilege of knowing him.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Joe D. Garcia of Los Luceros; his maternal grandparents, Adan and Susie Vigil; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Maria Luisa Garcia; his aunts and uncles, Mary and Wayne Allison, Mary and Bill Rider, Charlie Garcia, Phillip Garcia, Dollie Garcia, and John Fresquez; his cousin, Gabriel Fresquez; as well as many other beloved extended family members.

Joseph is survived by his loving mother, Eleanor Garcia, and his brother, Jamie Garcia (Amanda), both of Los Luceros. He is also survived by his Godparents, Jerry and Sarah Valdez of Albuquerque, and his godmother, Sarah DeWitt of Alaska. He leaves behind his uncles and aunts, Richard Garcia (Angie), Alfonso Lujan, David Maestas, Patricia Castillo (John), and Cindy Fresquez Maestas. He is also survived by his close cousins, Bobby and Monica Garcia, Melissa and Carlos Padilla, and Rita and Beto Godina, along with many other cousins and extended family members.

As a child, Joseph grew up alongside his lifelong best friend, Steven Herrera (Ruby) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Randy Hererra, Andrew Hererra both of Azuza, CA, and was welcomed as one of the family by Uncle Ben and his daughters, Angie (Aquilino) and Karen, Aunt Shelley and family, and Aunt Yvonne and family, all of Los Pachecos. Their love and friendship remained a cherished part of Joseph's life.

Joseph also leaves behind many dear friends, including Yvonne and Jake Baros, Angela Vigil, Conrad Espinoza, Roman Trujillo, Michael and Louella Vigil, and countless others whose lives were enriched by his friendship.
