Josefina Salinas

JOSEFINA D. SALINAS, 75, a resident of Española, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 following a battle with cancer; with her loving family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio G. Salinas; son, Albino Salinas IV; parents, Guadalupe and Sofia Martinez; and son-in-law, Robert Mickey Garcia. Josefina was a teacher for the Española School District for over 30 years and was an avid reader. She was happily married to Antonio Salinas for 50 years. She enjoyed spending time with all her family and she will be missed dearly. Mrs. Salinas is survived by her children, Antonio Salinas and wife Tania, Theresa Garcia and companion Steve Gabaldon, Sandra Anderson and husband Henry and Aaron Salinas; grandchildren, Daniela, Antonio III, and Andres Salinas, Robert, Michael and Christopher Garcia, Jacob Martinez and companion Neva, Janae Martinez, James M. and Valerie Montaño, Amanda, Monica, Albino Ⅴ, Raymond and Aaron “The Bubs” Salinas, Hannah and Claudia Rosacker; great-grandchildren, MiKayla Josefina and John Gurule, Zaydrian Cordova, Esperanza and Isabella Sandoval and TeAnna Wilkins; sister, Mary Apodaca; comadre/niece, Alicia Apodaca, loving God-daughter, Brittany Apodaca, and numerous other loving relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Del Corazon Hospice, Dr. Maley, Dona Archuleta, and Alyssa Ulibarri  for all their help during this difficult time. Public visitation will begin on Monday, January 8, 2018 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada. Serving the family as pallbearers, James Montaño, Antonio Salinas III, Andres Salinas, Aaron “The Bubs” Salinas, Jacob Martinez and Albino Salinas V. Honorary pallbearers will be all her remaining grandchildren. The family of Josefina D.
