Jose B. Age - 89 - La Mesilla Montoya

Jose B. Montoya, 89, a life-long resident of La Mesilla passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 after an extended illness. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the US Army in the European theater. He was preceded in death by his son, Valentine Montoya; grandson, Matt Sisneros; granddaughter, Sarabeth A. Montoya; sons-in-law: Rick Martel and Matthew Sisneros; parents, Enrique and Sara Montoya; brothers: Samuel Montoya, Antonio and wife Josie (Montrose, CO), Delfin and wife Eliria V. Montoya (La Mesilla), and baby brother Montoya; sisters: Ernestina and husband Ernesto Romero (La Mesilla), Eloisa and husband Benjamin Roybal (Cuyamunge), in-laws, Elias and Aurelia Martinez; brothers-in-law: Enrique and wife Lucy Martinez, Federico Martinez; sister-in-law, Aniceta Martinez. Mr. Montoya is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose A. Montoya; daughters: JoAnn Martel, Janet Morgan and Amy Vigil; daughter-in-law, Ernestine Montoya; sons: Samuel Montoya and wife Debbie, Nelson Montoya and wife Delfina; granddaughters: Andrea Montoya, Amberly Sisneros, Maria Lucia Montoya, Jessica and Alix Morgan, and Natalie Montoya; grandsons: Eric Hoak, Joaquin and Raphael Montoya; great-grandsons: Austin and Justin Hoak; brother, Miguel Montoya and wife Peggy; sister-in-law, Katie Martinez and husband Carlos; brother-in-law, Elias Martinez, Jr.; many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends. Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. A second rosary will be recited on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. The following will be serving as pallbearers: Eric, Justin and Austin Hoak, Matt Sisneros (dec), Joaquin, Raphael, Joseph, Miguel, David and Gilbert Montoya. Honorary pallbearers are all his granddaughters: Andrea & Sarabeth (dec) Montoya, Amberly Sisneros, Maria Lucia Montoya, Jessica and Alix Morgan, and Natalie Montoya. The family of Jose B.
