Jose Robert Floyd Zamora
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Robert Floyd Zamora, 74, AKA Bobby, Bob, and Zee. Robert went to be with our Lord on March 13, 2023, after a courageous effort to overcome cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones when his tired body left for his special place in Heaven with our Lord.
Robert was born in Ancones, New Mexico on April 4, 1948, to Manuelita Jaramillo and Antonio Zamora.
Robert was a Staff Sergeant in the United State Marine Corp., served in Vietnam 1967-1968, and has two purple hearts along with many other medals of honor. Robert had a joy for all music and playing his guitar with his family and friends. He would play all genres of music and enjoyed the 50s and 60s oldies the best. He had many bands over the years, playing mostly with his fellow veterans. Robert also had a passion for photography. He had a business taking weddings and special event photos years ago. Later, as technology changed, he adapted to the digital editing world and made amazing photos of his family and friends.
Robert is preceded by his mother Manuelita Jaramillo, his father Antonio Zamora, his sister Patricia Zamora who passed away as an infant, and his son Isaac Zamora.
Robert is survived by his long-term companion "Lori" Lorraine Vigil, ex-wife Patricia A. Klosterhoff, sons Matthew A. Zamora, Timothy S. Zamora, & Robert D. Zamora, Karla Zamora (Matthew’s wife), Maggie Zamora (Timothy’s wife), grandchildren Ryan Zamora, Karly Zamora, Elena Zamora, Zoe Zamora, & Samantha Zamora (Ryan's wife).
Robert had so much love in his heart for his family and his friends. He lived each day by his Marine Corp. motto Semper Fidelis, “always faithful”. He was an amazing father, grandfather, companion, & friend. Known for his kind heart and selflessness, Robert always put others first, giving from his heart without expecting anything in return. His generosity and genuine nature touched the lives of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in our hearts.
A Public Viewing will be held in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home Wednesday, March 29th at 9:30 AM. Funeral services, on location, will follow at 10 AM. Burial will follow services at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico at 12:30 PM.
