Jose Velasquez

Jose Vergilio Velasquez, a resident of Ojo Sarco died peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 4, 2017. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Velasquez and grand-daughter, Sherice Cordova; brothers Fabriciano Velasquez; Canuto Velasquez and wife Sara; Henry Velasquez and wife Eloudia, Solome Velasquez and wife Andronica; Priscilla Montoya and husband Orlando; Juan Amadeo Velasquez and wife Maria; Ascencion Romero and husband Antonio. He was an Hermano de La Morada de Nuestro Padre Jesus de Nazareno in Las Trampas, New Mexico since 1946. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Felicita Velasquez; his sons Floyd Velasquez and wife Annette, Elmer Velasquez and wife Josie, Gary Velasquez and Debbie Lovato, Eugene Velasquez and wife Lucille and daughter Marlene Cordova; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 08, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Jose de Gracias Catholic Church in Las Trampas, with a burial to follow in Las Trampas. Serving the family as pallbearers are Matthew Velasquez, Derrick Velasquez, Adrianna Velasquez, Curtis Cordova, Christopher Cordova and Camille Cordova, honorary pallbearers are, Jennifer Velasquez, Kimberly Velasquez, Monica Velasquez, Gabriela Velasquez and Sienna Roberts.
