Jose Torrez

Jose Adelaido Torrez, age 73, a lifelong resident of Cordova was called to be home with the Lord on August 4, 2017. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Torrez and two daughters; Angela and Diana Torrez; parents, Remijio and Adelia Torrez; brother, Paulito; sister, Floy Medart; in-laws, Juan Antonio and Rosalia DeAguero; brothers-in-law, Juan, Randy, and Carlos DeAguero, and Jesse Cordova. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice Torrez; sons, Robert Torrez (Bonnie), and Orlando Torrez; daughters, Linda Padilla (Albert), Corine Torrez (Matthew), and two grandchildren he raised and loved dearly, Jason Torrez and Kysha Lujan; special granddaughter, Lorraine Sandoval (Julian) Lexi Chavez and Leigha Sandoval; granddaughters, Audrey Padilla (Ambrose), Jeannette Montano (Juan), and Denise Padilla (Eric); brothers, Gilbert Torrez (Orlinda), Lawrence Torrez (Nina), Rowdy Torrez (Victoria); sisters, Isabel Sanchez (Bobby), Belinda Roybal (Delbert), Clorida Sanchez (Arturo), Susie Cordova, Cathy Cordova, Julia Cooper, and Betty Torrez; special nephew that was like a brother, Dwayne Sanchez (Reina) and many other great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Public visitation will begin on Saturday, August 12, 2107 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Cordova Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers; Robert, Orlando, and Jason Torrez, Matthew Salazar, Julian Sandoval, Ambrose Ortiz, and Dwayne Sanchez. The family of Jose Adelaido Torrez has entrusted the care of their beloved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the beautiful Española Valley.
