Jose Alfredo Talamante

Jose Talamante, was born on July 18, 1928 to Jose Fermin Talamante and Alejandrina Garcia Talamante in Edith, Colorado. 

Jose is preceded in death by his parents Jose Fermin and Alejandrina Talamante, sisters Ferminia Talamante and Maria Hermanita Martinez, brothers Jose Isidoro Talamante, Cristobal Talamante, grandson Leopuldo Talamante, granddaughters Susanna Talamante, Lahoma Talamante, Kyleighla Vigil and great grandson Josiah Martinez. 

He was raised helping his father herd sheep and then went on to become a forest firefighter.  He also worked at the sawmill. 

He married Maria Beatriz on July 9, 1949. They were blessed with 7 children, Juan Talamante, David Talamante, Rubilda Inez, Joaquin Talamante, Francis Talamante Sr., Ricardo Talamante and Stephanie Talamante-Vigil. He is survived by his brother Filimon Talamante, sisters Adonelia Talamante and Rosalie Alcon, and many grandchildren. 

Rosary will be on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 6 pm at St. Francis Church in Lumberton, NM.  Mass will be on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 9:00 am at St. Francis Church in Lumberton, NM.  Burial take place at the family plot.

Serving as Pallbearers are Sofia Talamante, Marcella Talamante, Theresa Talamante, Alicia Talamante, Fidel Vigil and Ruben Talamante.  Honorary Pallbearers are all grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
