Jose Teodor0 Lopez Jr., born on October 30, 1929, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026. Jose was a two-year Veteran from the Korean War. He worked at Tooele Army Depot in the South Area, where chemical weapons were stored. Jose invested thirty-five years working in the Forest Service in New Mexico. He also worked at the Santa Claran Casino in Espanola, NM, as a ground’s keeper.

He was born in Trampas, New Mexico, and survived by his son, Lawrence M. Lopez from Salt Lake City, UT, Rosa Rodriguez, sister from Chamisal, NM, David Lopez, brother form Trampas, NM, Nelson Lopez, brother from Rio Lucio, NM, Grace Lushman, sister from Albuquerque, NM.

A Public Viewing will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.

A Memorial Service will take place on July 17, 2026, Friday, at the Presbyterian Church in Penasco, NM at 10:00 a.m. and Burial at Las Trampas Cemetery.
