Jose Serrano

May 14, 1944 — September 8, 2021

Jose Armando (Armando) Serrano 77, a resident of Coyote, NM went to be with our dear lord on September 8, 2021.  He was born on May 14, 1944.

Armando was preceded in death by his parents Diego and Elena Serrano, a brother Jose Arsenio Serrano and a nephew Juan Jose (JJ) Serrano. Armando is survived by two brothers, Antonio and wife Vitalia Serrano and Manuel Serrano and Trudy Chacon. Also surviving Armando are his nieces and nephews, Dora (Chad) Guenther, Nora (Larry) Baca, Diego Serrano, Darrell Serrano, Eric Serrano and many great nieces and nephews. Also survived by many close friends. Too many to mention.

Armando worked multiple jobs in his life.  He worked on a ranch, drove the school bus, and for the Forest Service. He was always willing to help where ever he could. When Armando was around his friends he loved to a few beers or shots, which ever came first.

He loved to reminisce about his family and friends. He especially loved to talk about what he did as a young man and what he did with his brothers.  Armando was a fun, loving man.  He will be missed very much.

Pallbearers will be Diego Serrano, Larry Baca, Eric Serrano, Jeremy Serrano, Wayne Velasquez Jr., and AJ Velasquez.

Honorary Pallbearers are all his great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.

Public visitation will be on Wednesday, September 15, at 8:00 am, following will be the Rosary at 9:00, and Mass will be at 10:00.  Everything will take place on that morning at the San Juan Bautista Catholic Church in Coyote, with Christian Burial to follow at the Coyote Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Abiquiu Rec Hall next to the Abiquiu church.

The family of Jose Armando Serrano has entrusted the of care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of Espanola.
