Roberto, affectionately known as “Big Bob'' was known for his feisty, mischievous and lively spirit but most of all for his love and pride of his family and his beautiful Abiquiu community.  He had an infectious laugh and his great personality kept everyone entertained.  We will cherish all the happy memories of Roberto’s outgoing nature.  He loved being in the sierra whether it be with his horses and cows, going for wood, fishing, hunting and camping.  He loved his family wholeheartedly, and his happiest days were the days his five children were born.  Roberto would always welcome a family member or friend into his home for a good conversation.  Roberto, alongside his wife of 31 years, Sophie, instilled the importance of a college education into their children.  Roberto was so proud of all his five children and nine grandchildren’s achievements and careers.  He wouldn’t let a chance go by to express his pride and tell people about his hitos and hitas accomplishments.  Roberto adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Roberto made numerous friends throughout his life.  Anyone who met him, loved the personality that is known as “Big Bob”.  He leaves behind his beloved family, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, many nephews and nieces, cousins and numerous friends who will always remember his generosity, kindness, humor and his willingness to help out a family member or friend in need.
