Jose Noverto Blanco, age 85, a resident of Dixon, N.M. Departed this world on June 30, 2026 peacefully with his wife, sister-in-law, and friend Lorenzo by his side. After a very long illness. He was born on November 17, 1940 to Mardo and Teofila Blanco but was raised by Benito and Cirila Romero who adopted him. 

He is preceded in death by his In-laws Emilio and Juana Griego. He was a Mayordomo for the Acequia del Llano for 33 years in Dixon. He worked for RG & Sons Construction, mining in Grants and Questa for many years. He is survived by his wife Cecilia Griego, his children daughter Kathy Blanco of Espanola and son Robert (Tammy) Blanco of Belen, his step-son Phillip (Frances) Griego of Dixon, 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandsons, 22 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Tonie Martinez, many half brothers/sisters as well as nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10:00 in the Apostolic Praise Temple in Apodaca, NM, with burial at the Apostolic Cemetery. 

His grandson’s Phillip Griego Jr. and Andrew Blanco are serving as Pallbearers. Reception will follow at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall in Dixon.
