Jose Maestas

JOSE IGNACIO “NACHO” MAESTAS, 62, a resident of Española, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benito and Sarah Maestas; brothers, Benny, Jerry and Leon and paternal grandmother, Fedelina Archuleta. Mr. Maestas loved playing guitar, spending time with his friends and family and social media. He loved socializing, attending church services and taking care of his step-dad. He will be missed dearly. Mr. Maestas is survived by his children, Shawna Maestas and Amanda Mossman (Jason); grandchildren, Drew Maestas, Kelly Ann Garcia, Kayla Garcia and Aliya Valerio; great-grandson, Isiah Anaya; step-dad, Manuel Martinez and numerous other family and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with a memorial mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Following the mass the family will be having a meal at the Española Senior Center. The family of Jose Ignacio “Nacho” Maestas has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
