DR. JOSE ELIJIO MAESTAS, 77, a resident of Sacramento, California, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010. He was preceded in death by his sons, Leonard and Sam. Jose was a native of Vallecitos, New Mexico. He served in the US Army from 1950 to 1951 and has lived in Sacramento since 1974. He retired as a Clinical Psychologist after 37 years with the State of California. Mr. Maestas is survived by his wife of 60 years, Orlinda Maestas of Sacramento; daughters, Kathleen and Marilyn; grandchildren, Sam, Arturo, Joseph, Jennifer and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Adrian, Xavier, Marissa and Veronica; sisters, Jennie, Katie, Mel and Lorraine; sisters-in-law, Lila and JoAnn Archuleta and husband Adonis (Danny). Friends are welcome for visitation on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary located at 9189 East Stockton Bold, Elk Grove and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church located at 32990 So River Rd, Clarksburg, CA. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. also at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Memorials will be appreciated to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Building Fund.
