Jose Fidencio Blanco, (Fide), age 90, beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and father-in-law, and a veteran of The United States Army. Born and raised in Dixon, New Mexico. After battling long term illness, he was called home quietly, while surrounded by loved ones on August 30, 2022.

Jose was born on September 30th, 1931 to Antiono Blanco and Pablita Gonzales (Blanco) in Dixon. He was the youngest out of 5 brothers. He is preceded in death by, Evedon, Avelino, Modesto, Gilberto, and Roberto and his nephew Richard Gonzales.

He is survived by his wife (Nora) of 56 years, daughters Vangie Gonzales and Pauline (Norman) Valdez. His grandchildren, which he loved dearly Ashley (Kyle) Cook and JR Martinez. Great grandchildren, Ricardo Martinez, Diego Martinez, and Kyla Cook and many nieces and nephews and many amigos.

His favorite past time was with his daughter at the casinos. If he was not at the casinos, he was watching his favorite teams, The Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Lakers and The New York Yankees. If his teams weren’t on, he would find Boxing, UFC or check up world news. If it was labeled a sport he would be watching it. He loved the outdoors and would enjoy fishing, hunting, gardening, and going for wood.  He also served our country in the United States Army as a combat engineer in which he toured Germany and Korea from 1952-1960.

A wake service will take place on Tuesday September 6, 2022 at 6 pm with public visitation to begin at 5:30 pm.  Burial will take place the following day September 7, 2022 at 11 am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers: JR Martinez, Kyle Cook, Ricardo Martinez, JohnJohn Martinez, Gabriel Gonzales and Rick Gonzales.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Norman Valdez, Diego Martinez, Roger Blanco, Eli Martinez, Walter Martinez, Norberto Blanco and Adrian Gonzales.
