JOSE EMILIO BACA “Bacita”, 84, a resident of Espanola, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Bacita was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth V. Baca; son, Frank Baca, daughter, Emily Casias; parents, Leondro and Antonita Baca; brothers, Benancio Baca, Juan Baca and Juan C. Baca; grandson, Dennis Maestas. He is survived by his daughters, Marie Valencia (Frank) of Espanola, Laura Vasquez (Eddie) of Fairview, sons, Rudy Maestas (Pauline) of El Duende, Louie Maestas (Pearl) of Ranchitos; 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, George Maestas. Jose was known to his family and friends as “Bacita”. Bacita enjoyed going hunting and pinon picking. Bacita was employed as a mechanic for many years. He was employed by Hunter Ford and also by Los Alamos County where he eventually retired from. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be held at a later date. Serving the family as pallbearers, Stevie Salazar, Zachary Salazar, Adam Vasquez, Stephanie Valencia, Jasmine Romero, and Meranda Romero, honorary pallbearers are his 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
