Jose - Age - 68 - Hernandez Lopez

JOSE ADAN “CHINA” LOPEZ, 68, a resident of Hernandez and formerly of Chamisal, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2010 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Lopez; parents, Jose Adan and Regina Lopez; son-in-law, Lemie Gonzalez and nephew, David Sanchez. Jose enjoyed woodworking, making picture frames and other gadgets that his grandsons enjoyed playing with. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He especially loved to spend time with family and friends and going to the casino. Mr. Lopez is survived by his children, Gabriel Lopez and companion Kim of Los Luceros, Debbie Valdez and husband Juan of CA and Jolyne Gonzales of Arizona; grandsons, Joshua and Jeremiah Lopez, Michael and Matthew Valdez and Lemie Gonzales II; brothers, Paul Lopez and wife Dinah of Albuquerque, Julian Lopez and wife Debra of Rio Rancho; sisters, Connie Manzanares and husband Alfonso, Susie Medina and husband Edward all of Española, Pearl Sanchez and husband Augustine of Rio Rancho, Dorothy Granquest and companion Clause of CA, Viola Apodaca and husband Foster of CA; aunt, Elva Roybal and husband Mike of Chamisal; mother-in-law, Consuelo Martinez of CA and numerous other relatives and friends. Cremation is being planned. Public visitation will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with Military Honors. The Lopez family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n
