Jonathan Jose Lopez 

August 20, 1985 – June 6, 2026 

Jonathan Jose Lopez, 40, of Santa Cruz, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2026. Born on August 20, 1985, he grew up in Santa Cruz and lived a life defined by his devotion to his family. 

Jonathan had a generous spirit and a remarkable ability to bring joy to everyone around him. He had the biggest heart, was endlessly giving and possessed a sense of humor that could light up any room. He put a smile on the face of anyone who ever met him, and his warmth and kindness were truly unmatched. 

On April 12, 2013, Jonathan married Martina, his best friend. She cherishes the time God gave them together and will carry him with her always. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Blaise Lopez; his mother, Sandra Lopez; his grandparents, Connie and Joe Lopez; and his uncles, Rey Lopez and Leon Guerin. 

He is survived by his wife, Martina; his son, Jasiah Bradshaw; his brother, Travis Smith and his children, RaeLee, Donte, Teddy Rae, and Gracie Rae; his uncle's Aurelius Lopez and Benny Lopez and partner Ana Randall; his Mother-in-Law, Macrina Montoya and her husband Rick Montoya; his half-brothers, Joshua and Dillion Martinez; and many cousins, family, and friends

A Rosary will be held on Monday July 13, 2026, at 10:00 am with Funeral Mass to start at 11:00 at the Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz.

Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz. 

Pallbearers will be Santiago Lopez, JuanMarcos Guerin, Teofilo Guerin, Daniel Lopez, and Matthew Lopez.
