Jolyn was a beloved mother/daughter/sister/partner and friend. Jolyn was born on February 14, 1983, to her loving parents Ernie and late Diana Martinez. She loved her parents deeply and would always enjoy going to the mountains for wood and just spending time with them. Jolyn grew up in Truchas NM alongside her late brother Ernesto, who she always referred to as her best friend. They were always together. Dad recalls them always pulling each other's hair. Jolyn enjoyed spending time with her husband Thomas, sometimes going for rides on the four wheelers. As well as spending time with friends, and family. She would spend her free time watching movies, doing puzzles with her mom, swimming, and spending time with her kids.
Jolyn leaves behind her daughter Angel, sons Andres and baby Martinez. Her children were her pride and joy, she was always so proud of her children and their accomplishments. No matter her struggles she would always find a way to help her children in anything they needed. For many years Jolyn worked as a caregiver for her grandpa Nelson, they were always out and about running errands and spending time at the hot springs. Later she went on to work at LANL as a custodian where she was awarded in a publication as a hard working and dedicated employee. Those who knew Jolyn knew she was a strong resilient woman who faced many challenges from such a young age, but always tried to work through them as best as she could. Her life will be remembered by all the good she’s done and the love she gave.
A Rosary will take place on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM at 9:00 a.m. and a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow San Miguel Cemetery in Truchas, NM.
