Johnny Lucero

Johnny Lucero Jr. (Brown), of El Rito, NM, passed away on June 10th, 2024, at 58 years old. Johnny was born to Alice and Johnny Lucero on February 18, 1966. 

Johnny was proceeded in death by his father Johnny Lucero; brother Johnny Lucero Jr.; sisters Cherry Lucero, Tammy Griego and nephew Darrick Ocana. 

Johnny is survived by the light of his life, his kids. Desiray, Lynette, Alyssa, Kaylynn, Josiah, and Kimberly; grandchildren Larry, precious, Dominique, Lesha, and Ayden; great grandson Mateo; mother Alice Lucero; sisters Carol Ocana (Freddie), Noel Ocana (Paul); brother Billy Lucero (Victoria); nephews Freddie Jr., Ezekiah, Brandon, Steven, Daniel, Billy Jr., Kamron, and Logan; nieces Krista and Kaylee. 

Johnny was a selfless, honest and humble man. He enjoyed being out in the mountains hunting and fishing. He was a very hard worker who was passionate about the landscaping and construction work he did. He put his heart and soul into the homes he built. Johnny loved meeting new people and good conversation, whether it be with a good friend or a complete stranger. But above all else he loved his children and held them closest to his heart. 

Services:  Rosary - June 20, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Devargas Funeral in Espanola, NM.  Funeral Mass - June 22, 2024, at 12 p.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito, NM, with a burial to follow at El Rito Community Cemetery.
