Johnny I. Archuleta, 82, a resident of Espanola, born on May 27, 1934, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on December 26, 2016. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Juan I. & Rosabel V. Archuleta; brothers, Gilberto & Joe Quirino (wife Becky) and sister Cleseria; son Jerome Archuleta; granddaughter, Stephanie Archuleta and grandson Alfonso Archuleta. Johnny was a United States Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War and was a long-time member of the National Guard. He was a retired transportation engineer with 35 years from Colomex Oil and Gas Transportation. Johnny was known for being a man of exceptional work ethic, a wonderful sense of humor, a loving husband; father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending quality time with his family. Mr. Archuleta is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia Archuleta; children, Henrietta Naranjo, Chris and Cynthia Archuleta, Leonard and Mary Archuleta, Donald and Tina Archuleta, and Bernadette Archuleta; grandchildren, Frances Blea and husband Billy Rivera, Cheri Archuleta, Valerie Martinez and fiancé Sal Mares, Dominic, Andrea, Jeremy Angel, and Nichole Archuleta, Angelica Padilla, great grandchildren, Jezreel Archuleta, Santiago Chavez, Deserae Mares, Dominique Archuleta, Destiny and Robyn Gallegos, Auburn-Sky Rivera, Jayden Vigil, Scarlett Vigil, Alexandra Vigil and Nehemiah Serna; sisters, Elfa and Gabby Montoya, Yolanda Archuleta and companion Marcus, Diana Archuleta and companion Pat Coe; brothers, Gilbert, Arthur, Elmer and Johanna Archuleta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Dominic Archuleta, John Paul Martinez, Nichole Archuleta, Jeremy Archuleta, Santiago Chavez, Anthony Salazar and Patrick Salazar and Billy Rivera.
