JOE H. AVILA, 95, a resident of Chimayo, born July 27, 1921 and passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Carmen Perez; daughter, Annette B. Avila; father and mother-in-law, Ramon and Pablita Jaramillo; grandparents, Antonio and Elicia Vaila; aunts and uncles who Joe grew up with, David, Ofelio Domecilla, Arcenia, Charley, Maria. “God Lent you to us for a while, you showed us love and you’ll always be in our hearts. You were a wonderful husband and father. We we’ll miss you until we meet again. Love Cleo, Barbara and John Avila. “Rest in Peace”. Joe is survived by his wife, Cleo J. Avila; daughter, Barbara Avila, son, John T. Avila; granddaughter, Angelica and husband Jamie; brother and sister-in-law, Samuel Jaramillo, Emma Trujillo; step-granddaughters, Cloudy, Desi and Angel; cousins, Bobby Naranjo, Dave Avila, Josie Bernal and many other loved ones whose names may not be listed but are appreciated greatly. Special thank you to Gerald, Alexandria Ortiz, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office and paramedics who tried to revive Joe, God Bless each and every one of you. Public visitation will begin Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at El Potrero Cemetery in Chimayo. Service the family as pallbearers, Paul Gonzales, Matthew Martinez, Nick Pino, Orlando M. Martinez, Alphonso Martinez and Michael Vigil. The family of Joe H.
