Joan Louise Kim

Joan Louise Farmer Kim, age 88 beloved wife, mother and grandmother of White Rock, New Mexico passed away suddenly however peaceful on November 22, 2025, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Roy and Anan Linda Farmer, sister Helen Book, brother James Farmer, Father-in law, Chae Suk Kim, Soon KI Kim, Soon Cha Kim, Yoo Syun Kim, and brother-in-law, Young Chull Kim.

Joan was born on June 28, 1937, Rausas, Missouri to James Roy and Ana Linda Farmer; Joan was the eldest of five siblings.

She is survived by her husband Kyu C. Kim (K.C.) and their two daughters, Ellen and Janice Kim, along with a grandson, Melachi Kim Price, and a granddaughter, Ashira Kim Price. Sister Dana Fay and brother Travis W. Farmer.

Joan met the love of her life. Kyu C. Kim (K.C.) married on July 6,1966. They moved to White Rock, NM in 1974 and have lived for nearly 60 years.

One of Joan’s greatest joys was singing in the choir at the Trinity on Hill Episcopal Church in Los Alamos, New Mexico. She also enjoyed to study science and religion and not money or position.

During this time frame she gave birth and raised two daughters, Ellen and Janice. Joan saw them grow up to be a Medical Doctor and the first World Youth Go Champion representing the USA in 1985, 1986 and 1987. She has never asked for anything back in a way of jewels and cloths. She has supported her husband without asking questions for work and pleasure, but dedication and love. She was an ideal partner for a lifetime. She will greatly missed by her husband and children.
