Jimmy L. Flores, 72, was born on December 1, 1953 in Roswell, NM and began his eternal journey on June 20, 2026. He was born to Max Jr. and Elisa Flores who preceded him in death.
Jim graduated from Goddard High School in 1971, where he played basketball and baseball. Jim worked in Inventory Control for various companies ending with 23 years of service with the Espanola Public Schools where he loved interacting with the children every chance he got when making deliveries.
Jim was adventurous and free spirited with a multitude of interests that included karate, fishing, hunting, leather work, woodwork, billiards, watching westerns, music, sports, hiking through the Capitan Mountains with his faithful companion Whiskey, motorcycles, horse races, going to yard sales, and telling stories of his youth.
Jim never met anyone who wasn’t a friend. Jim will be remembered for his dedication to the children of the Espanola School District and his support of the Sundevil Athletics.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Max Jr. and Elisa, his grandparents Donicio Chavez and Ona Juarez, Max and Ermenia Flores, his brothers Rudy and Robert, his sister Onalisa Flores, his in-laws, Bernardino and Rebecca Salazar, his brother-in-law Henry Salazar, his nephews Donald Flores and Dino Padilla.
Left to cherish memories are his loving wife of 35 years, Theresa Flores, his sons James Flores (Alyssa), Justin Gaussoin (Gianna), and his daughter Janaka Flores. His grandchildren Kayzel and Jade Flores and Nico and Aletheia Gaussoin. His sister Sonya Rodriguez (Orlando), his sister-in-laws Carmen Flores, June Leyba, his brother-in-law Maynard Salazar (Mary), a special nephew Arron Flores (Melissa), and other nephews and nieces, Autumn and Christy Smith, Orlando and Elijah Rodriguez, David Padilla, Marcus Leyba, Brittani Bolleter (EJ), Vidal and Enrique Salazar, Jeremy Salazar and God-daughter Lindsey Benson (Will) and other great-nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, starting with: Rosary at 10:30 am at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Alcalde, NM, with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Burial following mass at Alcalde Cemetery.
The following will Honor Jim by serving as Pallbearers: Arron Flores, David Padilla, Vidal Salazar, Enrique Salazar, EJ Bolleter, and Kevin Abeyta.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kayzel and Jade Flores and Nico and Aletheia Gaussoin.
