Jesse Maestas, age 59, of Pojoaque peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 6, 2026. He was born on December 18, 1966.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Ramona Maestas; brother Marcos Maestas; nephew Leonard Griego Jr.; paternal grandparents Patrocinio and Juanita Maestas; maternal grandparents Jose Jr. and Josephine Arrietta.

He is survived by brother Ricky Maestas; sister Laura Griego; nephew Daniel Griego; niece Lorena (Chris); great niece Luna; Tia Bertha Romero; special cousins Santo and Stephanie Arrietta; Joseph Arrietta; Crystal Collins; Lisa (Rigo) Arrietta-Perez; Kenny Archuleta; Norman Archuleta (Austin, Bentley, and Nia); a special love for Milinda and Anhelica; and many other family members.

Jesse was a kind soul that loved feeding the stray cats, skunks, and raccoons. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed writing poems and stories. He enjoyed the outdoors fishing, hunting, camping, BBQ-ing. He enjoyed the warmth of the sunshine and listening to the radio while enjoying a cold beer.

Jesse had a warm smile and a sense of humor that will be deeply missed by those who love him.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Pojoaque Cemetery. Burial will take place after rosary.
