Jeffrey Brown

JEFFREY R. BROWN, 37, a resident of La Puebla, was born November 30, 1981 and passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey L. Brown; paternal grandmother, Angelina “Hon” Gonzales, maternal grandfather, Fidel Martinez; brother, David “Spunky” Montoya; and paternal great-grandmother, Rosario Marquez. Jeffrey was a loving person that was always willing to help anyone in any way he could. His number one priority was his mother always making sure she was cared for. The love he had for his two daughters was that of a proud father. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.  Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Concha Montoya; daughters, Alexis and Hailey DeVargas; sisters, Yolanda (Joseph), Marcella (Leonard), Benita (Jesse), brothers, Benito (Karen), and Billy (Geraldine); paternal grandfather, Percy Gonzales; aunt, Dixie Brown, uncles, Mark Gonzales (Valerie), Carmelito (Isabel), Fidel Jr. (Loyda); great-uncle, Rudy Brown (Socorro); great-aunt, Lena Amezcua; mother of his children, Lucretia DeVargas,  and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Public visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.  Public visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial will take place at a later date.  Carrying her son to his final resting place will be his mother Concha Montoya together with his two daughters Alexis and Hailey DeVargas as honorary pallbearers.
