Jeffery Mathew Diaz, 56, of Española, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on March 21, 1970, Jeffery lived a life defined by love, loyalty, strength, and devotion to those he held dear. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Jeffery was known for his warm smile, caring heart, and willingness to help anyone in need. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and joy to family gatherings and everyday moments alike.
For 32 wonderful years, Jeffery shared a loving marriage with his wife, Shannon. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and unwavering support. Their marriage was a testament to dedication, friendship, and enduring love.
Jeffery's greatest pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shannon; his son, Diego Diaz and wife Marissa; his son, Sean Diaz and wife Nazarae; and his daughter, Savannah Diaz. He is also survived by his loving mother, Barbara Abeyta; his father, Jerry Abeyta; his brother, Thomas Martinez and wife Sarah; his sister, his brother-in-law, Adam, and wife Sabrina; and his very close niece, Leandra, and her husband, Daniel, who held a special place in his heart.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Diana Baum, and father-in-law, Billy Baum. Jeffery was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, each of whom brought joy and happiness to his life. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his brother, Estevan; his sister, Patricia; his grandfather, Pete; his grandmother, Sophia; his grandfather, Bobby; and his uncle, Richard Birch.
Jeffery will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, compassion, and the unconditional love he shared with family and friends. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Whether through a helping hand, a kind word, or simply being present when someone needed him, Jeffery made a lasting impact on those around him.
Although his passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will remain a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration. The love he shared, the values he lived by, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Jeffery Mathew Diaz will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Friday June 19, 2026, at 1:00pm at The Rock Christian Fellowship in Espanola.
