In Loving Memory of Jeff Mathew Diaz 

March 21, 1970 – June 6, 2026

Jeff Mathew Diaz, 56, of Española, NM, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Estevan; his sister, Patricia; his grandparents, Pete, Sophia, and Bobby; and his uncle, Richard Birch.

Born on March 21, 1970, Jeff lived a life centered on love, family, and friendship. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone in need. His warm smile and caring nature left a lasting impact on all who knew him. 

For 32 years, Jeff shared a loving and devoted marriage with his wife, Shannon. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Family was the foundation of Jeff's life, and he took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Shannon; his children, Diego Diaz and wife Marissa, Sean Diaz and wife Nazarae, and Savannah Diaz. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Abeyta; his father, Jerry Abeyta; his brother, Thomas Martinez and wife Sarah; aunt Dorothy Birch; his brother-in-law, Adam and wife Sabrina; his mother-in-law, Diana Baum; and his father-in-law, Billy Baum. A special place in Jeff's heart was reserved for his close niece, Leandra and nephew David . He was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren who brought him immense joy and happiness. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. Jeff will be remembered for the love he gave so freely, the strength he showed throughout his life, and the kindness he extended to everyone around him. He had a unique ability to make people feel welcome, valued, and cared for, and his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to those who loved him. His life was a blessing, and his love will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Forever loved, always remembered, and never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday June 19, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Rock Christian Fellowship in Espanola, NM.
