James "JD" Vigil

James “JD” Vigil age 50, of Truchas, departed from this life on Friday, August 5, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Liberato and Delfinia Vigil, and Paul and Alice Archuleta, uncles Liberato and Esperanza Vigil, Larry Archuleta, and aunts Velma Taranto and Mary Louise Romero all of Truchas.

JD was born on April 13, 1972, to loving parents Gene and Cindy Vigil and grew up in Truchas.  He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend.  JD loved his children very much and was very proud of them and their accomplishments.  He was an electrician and carpenter by trade and could be relied upon to help family and friends with both small and large projects.  He was often found listening to music, drawing or reading a book.  He had a nostalgic nature to him that made conversations with him both easy and interesting.  He is loved deeply by many and will be greatly missed.

JD is survived by his companion Becky Duran, son Justice Vigil, daughter Araya-Blue Vigil, mother of his children Antonette Cordova, parents Gene and Cindy Vigil, brothers Julio Vigil (Julie), Geno Vigil (Deborah), nephews Reyes Vigil, Junior Vigil, Alex Vigil, Adolfo Medina, Dylan Medina, godson Brandon Cordova, goddaughter Vanessa Martinez and an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A public visitation will take place on Thursday August 18, 2022, at 6:00 pm in the Sangre de Christo Chapel of Devargas Funeral Home with a Devotional Service to follow at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Friday August 19, 2022, at 10:30 am at Presbyterian Church in Truchas, NM. Burial to follow at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas

Serving as Pall Bearers: Paul Martinez, Ernie Vigil, Reyes Vigil, Junior Vigil, Brandon Cordova and Felix Rodriguez.
