James Steven Sanchez Jr, a loving friend, son, brother, and uncle, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 57. Steven will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his warm presence, and the kindness he shared so freely with the people and animals around him.

Steven had a caring heart and found joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments—especially those spent with his family. Some of his fondest memories were helping his parents at art fairs, where they taught and sold their handmade art. These times held deep significance for him, allowing him to connect with his parents through creativity and shared passion.

He especially cherished Christmas, a season he welcomed with excitement every year. Steven loved making homemade crafts for each loved one, creating thoughtful, heartfelt gifts that reflected the joy he found in giving.

Steven was a deeply creative person, expressing himself not only through his love of art and handmade gifts but also through his interest in hairdressing, movies, and music. He took pride in exploring his creative side in all its forms, bringing imagination, care, and joy into everything he did.

He had a special love for animals—especially cats—who brought him comfort and companionship throughout his life. Caring for animals came naturally to Steven, and his gentle presence seemed to make them feel safe and loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Amy Sanchez; his uncles Victor Martinez, Avaran Martinez, Albert Martinez, Frank and Aurelia Sanchez, Pete Sanchez, and Ray Sanchez; and his aunts Corina Mainez, Mary Rodriguez, Pauline Ledoux, Madeline Martinez, and Lucy Papez.

Steven is survived by his brother, Michael Sanchez and wife Judy; his nephew, Chris Sanchez; his niece, Mariah Sanchez; his aunt Ester and Nino Martinez; his uncle Jerry Martinez (Corina); and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Steven’s kindness, creativity, and deep love for family and animals will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family extends special thanks to his cousins Judy, Annette, Benita, Dorthy, Angie, and Holly for their love and support. Deep gratitude also goes to his housekeeper and caretaker, Patricia Fuentes, whose care and companionship meant so much to Steven and his family.
