JAMES MATTHEW MEDINA, 34, a resident of Española, born on November 22, 1980 and passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 following a lengthy disability. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Carla Medina; grandparents, Carmelita and Manuel Martinez and Archie Medina; aunts, Patty Medina, Veronica Trujillo and Lucille Ortiz; uncles, Amado Martinez, Arsenio Romero (Nino) and Florentino Trujillo; cousins, Steven Martinez and Wally Medina. Mr. Medina is survived by his mother, Rita Martinez and husband Ed; father, Jimmy Medina and wife Eva; grandmother, Rosa Medina; biological father, Joe Martinez and wife Claudelle; brothers, Andrew and David Martinez, sisters, Jennifer Medina, Crystal Roybal, Tracy Romero, Janice, Anjolyn, Johanna Martinez and JoRonda Abeyta; best friend, Richie Trujillo; close friend, Estevan Vigil; aunts and uncles, Rose Romero (Nina), Viola Romero, Connie (David) Martinez, Virginia Duran, Lorraine (Victor) Salazar, Berlinda (Mario) Maestas, Helen Martinez, Manuel (Lourdes), Albert (Patsy) Martinez, Leroy Ortiz, Diana Medina, Andy (Irene) Medina, Ralph Medina, Vangie Corleto, Billy Medina and Sammy (Eileen) Medina and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at Nuestra Señora del Carmel Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Andrew Martinez, Ezerah Martinez, Anthony Trujillo, Paul Sanchez, Matt Roybal and Andrew Atencio. Honorary pallbearers will be all his lifetime and close friends and his nieces and nephews.
