Isaac Maestas, 78, lifelong resident of Hernandez, NM, passed away unexpectedly after a lengthy illness on March 29, 2026, born on April 11, 1947, to Josie Maestas, and raised with the help of Arsenio Sisneros whom he considered as his dad.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Lourdes Maestas; parents Josefina & Arsenio Sisneros; sister Doris Sisneros; nephews Davey & Timothy Sisneros; grandsons, Juan Marcos Lopez & Dion Palomares.

Isaac is survived by his children, Brian Maestas (Noelle), Cynthia Peggy Maestas, April Maestas (Jose). Grandchildren, Brandon (Mattie), Brianna (Darren), Britney (Marquise), Katelyn (D’Angelo), Alexis & Jaiden. His brothers, Roy Maestas (Masha), Allen Sisneros (Nancy), Johnny Sisneros (Gerrie), his sisters, Betty Sisneros & Joyce Romero, great-grandchildren, Jeshua, Taliah, Addilynn, Kamden, Deklin, Malia, & Kiara and many nieces, nephews and God children.

On Thursday, April 9, 2026, there will be a Public Visitation at 5:00 pm, with Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm at DeVargas Funrtal Home in Espanola, NM.

On Friday. April 10, 2026, a Mass will take place at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, NM, at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at the San Jose Cemetery in Hernandez, NM.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Allen Sisneros, Johnny Sisneros, Brandon Maestas, Jose Palomares, Ivan Salazar, & Johnny Ray Sisneros.
