Henry "Hodie" Esquibel Jr. 36, of Cuartelez went to be with the lord on May 21, 2010. He was surrounded by his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.He had the biggest and kindest heart. He loved the outdoors and loved to plant. He was preceded in death by his father Henry Esquibel Sr. and his paternal grandparents Alejandro and Eloisa Esquibel. Uncles; Sam, Ramon, Max and Candelario Esquibel. He is survived by his mother Carol Esquibel, sister Anna Esquibel and brother Edward Esquibel all of Cuartelez, maternal grandparents Pedro and Dora Roybal of El Rancho, special cousin Patty Wheeler, very special neice Erica Salazar and companion Anthony Valdez of Cuartelez, nephews Andrew and Matthew Lopez of La Puebla and Randy Sandoval of Espanola, great nephews Anthony Valdez Jr. and Eric Valdez of Cuartelez, aunts Velma Esquibel, Dora Martinez, Louisa Esquibel and Edwina Esquibel all of Cuartelez, Josie Cervantes and Tina Trujillo of Albuquerque, uncles Billy (Cordelia) Roybal, Gus (June) Roybal, Danny (Linda) Roybal and Larry Roybal all of El Rancho. Pallbearers Anthony Martinez, Carlo Lopez, Anthony Valdez, Gillie Esquibel, Randy Sandoval, Matthew Lopez, Marty Sherwood and Lenny Roybal, Honorary Pallbearers Andrew Lopez, Anthony Valdez Jr, Eric Valdez, Kenneth Wheeler, Wayne Hoolis, Martin Fernandez, Jesus and Francisco Roybal and Renee Roybal. Public visitation will begin Monday May 24th, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home where a wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday May 25th, 2010 at 10 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de La Canada with burial to follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
