Harry Martinez

HARRY MARTINEZ, 55, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 following a lengthy illness.  He was preceded in death by his father, Horacio Martinez; step-father, Gilbert Barela; maternal grandmother, Francisquita Martinez, paternal grandparents, Rebecca and Fernando Martinez; brothers, Harold and Halbert Martinez, sister, Evangeline Madrid; father and mother-in-law, Jose Ernesto and Virginia Jaramillo. Harry was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son and uncle who was the rock of his family. He loved and cared for his family making sure they were always taken care of. He enjoyed the outdoors, he was always hunting, fishing and going for wood. He was well known for his great sense of humor and witty comments always making everyone laugh. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Carlota Martinez; mother, Dora Martinez; children, Dwight Jaramillo, Frieda Martinez (Danny) Anaya and Jonathan Martinez; grandchildren, Simon and Amor Jaramillo, Amy, Indykah, and Janiyah Anaya; special nephew and niece, Leon and  Shannon Martinez; sister, Doris Pacheco (Danny); aunts and uncles, Christina and Richard Padilla, Celia and Ramon Martinez, Roselia Archuleta, Flora Villa and Candy Martinez; beloved pets, Flaca and Gordy and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom he loved dearly. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with burial to follow at Nuestra Senora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Leon Martinez, Noel Martinez, Marvin Martinez, Simon Jaramillo, Danny Archuleta, Rupert Padilla, Joe Ortega, and Jackie Gallegos, honorary pallbearers are; Gilbert Gallegos, Alfonzo Tafoya, Michael Martinez and all his grandchildren.
