Halbert - Age 41 - Chimayo Martinez

HALBERT MARTINEZ, 41, a resident of Chimayo, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. He was preceded in death by his father, Horacio Martinez; brother, Harold Martinez; sister, Evangeline Madrid; maternal grandmother, Francisquita Martinez; paternal grandparents, Fernando and Rebecca Martinez. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and going for wood. He dearly loved his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He was a hard working family man who loved taking care of his mother. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Martinez of Chimayo; children, Audrianna, Antonio, Frances, Regina and Evangeline Martinez all of Chimayo; grandchildren, Josiah, Tatyana and Isabel; mother, Dora Martinez; step-father, Gilbert Barela both of Chimayo; brother, Harry Martinez and wife Carla of Chimayo; sister, Doris Pacheco and husband Danny of Española; God-son and nephew, Dwight Jaramillo of Chimayo; brother-in-law, Andres Madrid; sister-in-law, Lucille Martinez and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. also at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers, Leon Martinez, Dwight Jaramillo, Jackie Gallegos, Rupert Padilla, James and Jose Martinez, Pablo Vigil and Larry Martinez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Matthew, Johnny, Jesse and Placedes Martinez. The Martinez family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
