Gordon Isaac Garcia, 40, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Gordon was proud of his native culture. He sang and danced. Gordon and his father had a dance group called Passing Rain. Gordon loved his heavy metal rock music. In Gordon’s spare time he helped his family & friends with mechanical work on their cars. The neatest thing about Gordon was his contagious smile, he was always happy. He would prepare breakfast for his mom & kids faithfully every morning. He loved to draw & read. His nephew Butterfly idolized his uncle. His music will continue. He was a great inspiration and influence to all his nephews & nieces. Butterfly shared a special bond with him. He will be dearly missed by those who knew & loved him. A special thanks to all his special nephews who will carry him to his final resting place. Gordon was preceded in death by his father, Peter C. Garcia Sr.; maternal grandparents, Geronima and Emiliano Archuleta; paternal grandparents, Jose Antonio Garcia and Zenaida. Gordon is survived by his mother, Reyecita Garcia of Ohkay Owingeh; companion, Ang Vigil of Tesuque Pueblo; children: daughter, Kateri Garcia & granddaughter, Kayani Garcia; son, Claver Garcia; daughters, Gloria Garcia and Coral Flower Garcia all of Ohkay Owingeh; brothers: Peter Garcia Jr. and wife Sharon & family, Joe Garcia and wife Oneva & family, Linkie Garcia and boys all from Ohkay Owingeh; sisters: Sweet Martinez and husband Martin & family of Taos, NM; Shirley Davis and companion James “Curly” & family of Ohkay Owingeh, Honey Ortiz and husband Curtis & family, Bea Garcia and Sugar Povijua and family all from Ohkay Owingeh; Aunt, Patsy Dili of Ohkay Owingeh; numerous other loving relatives & friends. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at 1134 Sage St, in Ohkay Owingeh. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh with burial to follow at San Juan Catholic Cemetery with his nephews carrying him to his final resting place.
