Gomisindo P. Age - 84 Canjilon Velasquez

Gomisindo P. Velasquez, 84, a lifelong resident of Canjilon passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Mr. Velasquez was a member of La Confradia de Nuestro Padre Jesus de Nazareno. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucresia Velasquez; parents, Macedonio and Soledad Velasquez; brothers: Max and Natividad Velasquez; sisters: Estefanita Gonzales and Sofia Martinez; grandson, Ambrose Velasquez; great-grandson, Ernesto Baca. Mr. Velasquez is survived by his children: Paul Baca and wife Amalia of Canjilon, Tina Velasquez of Cuba, NM; Phil Velasquez and wife Lorraine of Canjilon, Fred Velasquez of Denver, CO; Mary Martinez and husband Max of Canjilon and Ross Velasquez of Canjilon; brothers/sisters: Antonina Garcia of Hernandez, Abelino Velasquez and companion Priscilla of La Jara, CO; Clorinda Salazar of Hernandez; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren too numerous to count, and many other relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno with burial to follow at Canjilon Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Lorenzo Velasquez, Randy Velasquez, Daniel Martinez, Emery Baca, Damian Velasquez and Phil Velasquez Jr.; honorary pallbearers: all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
