Glenn S. Jr.- age 78 - Taos Pike

Glenn S. Pike, Jr., 78, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, after suffering a severe stroke. He was born in Decatur, Texas, on September 11, 1936. Glenn grew up in Odessa, Texas, and he attended Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising in 1957. He worked in advertising in Phoenix for about 10 years before moving to Ruidoso, where he wrote and produced a local magazine for nearly 10 years while raising his daughter Keri as a single parent. Glenn later returned to Phoenix, transitioning into computers and web site development. While living in Phoenix, he won many state level awards in Toastmasters competitions. He moved to Taos and began developing web sites that offered live and recorded videos of a diverse selection of cultural and sports activities in Taos, enabled by a close association with Taos.net and many other supportive people in Taos. He produced at least 2000 videos of Taos activities that are hosted on six web sites. During this 10 year period, Glenn was known to lead local webcasting development as a creative, knowledgeable, and energetic individual. Glenn eagerly offered to help other people with their problems. Close associates of Glenn believe he created a treasure of Taos history during his life in Taos. Glenn was preceded in death by his daughter, Keri Brooke Pike; father, Glenn S. Pike Sr.; mother, Lenora Clara Cary Pike; and two brothers, Roland E. Pike and Courtney W. Pike. Glenn is survived by a sister, Doris Evartt (and husband Ceaborn), Taft, TX, and three brothers Charles E. Pike (and wife Helen), Kingman, AZ, Leighton O. Pike, Annapolis, MD, and C.R. Pike (and wife Minnie), Morristown, TN. The family of Glenn S. Pike, Jr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
