Gilbert Andres Acosta

It is with broken hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Gilbert (Andresito) Acosta on January 3, 2026.

Gilbert was born September 14, 2003, to his parents, Gilbert Acosta Jr. and Lorenza Romero in Tucson, Arizona. Gilbert was a very loving person with a wide smile for everyone that he met. He was a hard-working person, who could get a job anywhere he applied. Gilbert was a loving brother to his sister Angelique and brother Ariel.

Gilbert is survived by his mother, Lorenza Romero, sister, Angelique, brother, Ariel, best friends Christine Diaz Lujan, Jacob Garcia, and Juan Fabro. He is also survived by great-grandmother, Grace Coviz Salazar, aunt Maria Teresita Valdez from El Llano, Uncle Sammy Salazar and wife Shirley of La Mesilla. First cousins, Alexus, Jose, Jesse Lewis, Henrietta and Michael (Shag) Valdez, Valerie Martinez from Las Cruces, Second cousins, Adam, Tim, and John Martinez, Santana, Mario and Mateo Valdez, Beau and Danica Martinez.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ramon Romero, great grandfather, Andres Salazar, grandmother, Romanita Salazar, aunts, Patricia Lewis, Rosemary Rivera, uncles, Alex Salazar, Michael Valdez, cousin Lawrence Salazar, and special aunt Jessie Rodriguez.

A public viewing will take place at DeVargas Funeral Home on January 13, 2026 at 4:30p.m. and a Rosary at 5:00 p.m.
