Gertrude D. Moore, 93, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023, in La Puebla, New Mexico surrounded by her New Mexico family.  She was a resident of La Puebla since 1981.  She was born in North Adams, Massachusetts on September 7, 1929, to parents Dr. Antoine and Gabrielle Dumouchel.  She graduated from St. Anne’s Academy in Marlboro, Massachusetts in 1947.  She was a medical secretary in her father’s office. 

She married Frederick E. Moore in 1953. They had three sons, Thomas J., Timothy O., and William H. Moore.  She assisted her husband with the bookkeeping in his excavating business.  In 1968, she formed her own Real Estate office and became a licensed REALTOR broker in Massachusetts and New York.  In 1981, she, her husband and son William moved to New Mexico. W.H.Moore Cash Lumber was formed and Gertrude was the chief bookkeeper.  In addition to those duties, she again formed her own Real Estate office in 1983, being a REALTOR until 1998 when she retired.  She continued being involved with W.H.Moore Cash Lumber LLC until 2006 when she retired from it.

Gertrude is preceded in death by her parents Dr. Dumouchel and Gabrielle Dumouchel, Father & Mother-in Law Harwood and Lauretta Moore (HD & Nanny) Husband Fred Moore, Brother-in-law Aurele Bosse’ and her Brother Robert Dumouchel. 

She is survived by their three sons and their families, Thomas (Jennifer) of Houston, Texas.  Granddaughter Laura (Christopher Dols) and Great-Grandchildren George and Lila of Houston, Texas. Grandson Eddie (Brittany) and Great-Grandchildren Eli and Austin of Dallas, Texas. Timothy (Maureen) of North Adams, Massachusetts. Grandson Tony (Hadley) of North Adams, Massachusetts, and Great-Grandchildren John and Isabella and their mother Michaela Lapointe of North Adams, Massachusetts. Grandson John (Katie) and Great-Granddaughter Addison of Adams, Massachusetts.  Granddaughter Marla (Max Gruner) and Great-Grandchildren Anthony and Penelope of Kingston, New York.  William (Margie) of Hernandez, New Mexico. Granddauther Andrea (David Maez) and Great-Grandchildren Kyla and Nailea of Hernandez, New Mexico.  Grand daughter Elizabeth (Greg Campbell) and Great-Grandchildren Jeremiah and Soraya of Hernandez, New Mexico.                                                                                                 

She is also survived by sister Claire Bosse’ of Lewiston, Maine, brother Paul Dumouchel (Mary Frances) of Boston, Massachusetts (Mary Braithwaite) Robert’s wife of Nassau, Bahamas.  Sister-in-law Nancy Gehman of Santa Fe, New Mexico and many Nieces and Nephews. 

We would like to thank the following; Del Corazon Hospice for their care of Gertrude for the last 2 months, Donna Archuleta one of her caregivers for the last 3 years, Carmen Perez, Yadira Holguin, Maribel Diaz and former caregiver Randie Kroshus.

She had a deep love of animals, especially her dogs and her cats who predeceased her.

Mass will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
