Gerard “Jerry” Maestas

GERARD “JERRY” MAESTAS - 61, beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 26, 2024. Jerry was born and raised in Lower San Pedro. Born to Sixto and Tina Maestas. Jerry planted his roots in Los Luceros.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sixto and Tina Maestas, grandparents, Joe “Chere” and Lugardita Quintana, Sixto and Senida Maestas, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

He is survived by his daughters Jessica Maestas (Manuel Padilla), Jaslyn Maestas (Jeremy Martinez) and son, Dominic Maestas, grandchildren Miguel & Daniel Espiricueta, Troy Naranjo & Arabella Martinez; siblings, Sisto, Tommy (Sandra), Cyndi, Isaac (Denise) Maestas;  and 5 nephews and 4 nieces, great nephews and nieces, and cousins.

Jerry was a high spirited, fun loving, and willing to give his shirt off his back person who was always there for his family and friends. He loved going to the mountains and going fishing/ camping. Dad loved to always have his family over for bbq's and fireworks. Always wanted to be on the go-go.

A rosary will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 1:30 at the Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM; with a Mass to follow. A burial will take place at a later date.

Serving as Pallbearers will be his son Dominic Maestas, his grandkids Miguel & Daniel Espiricueta, Troy Naranjo & Arabella Martinez.

Honorary pallbearers will be close friends Fred Romero, Tony Herrera, Derek & Bryan Maestas, Duane, Kenneth & Leon Trujillo, & Greg Trujillo Jr.
